Somethings take a long time - Basil Rajapakse to be apprehended & brought back to Sri Lanka!

Police spokesman ASP Ruwan Gunasekera short while ago announced that the Police Department is going to obtain a court order to bring back former Economic Development Minister Basil Rajapakse to Sri Lanka. It is claimed the allegations against him pertains to activities with Divinaguma Department. Large sums of money allocated to Divinaguma Department has allegedly siphoned to activities totally unrelated the Departments activities.   

Basil Rajapakse left the island to USA with his wife Pushpa within days of the Presidential Election & the premise he was planning to return back to the island around 23 of February. Subsequently the Parliament granted him three months leave of absence. Alarm bells should have rung for the present administration that some thing was amiss.


Former secretary to the Ministry of Economic Development, Dr. Nihal Jayathilaka and former director of Divi Neguma Project R.K. Ranawaka  has been under the limelight recently as they have been questioned by the Police on the activities under their purview. Also very recently a Foundation run by Mrs Pushpa Rajapakse was being investigated on a alleged financial transaction involving US$ 150,000.00.
