Sri Lanka Freedom Party joined the government a short while ago, accepting a number of Cabinet, State and Deputy Ministerial portfolios.

AHM Fowzie, SB Navinne, Piyasena Gamage, Dr. Sarath Amunugama, S.B. Dissanayake, Janaka Bandara Tennakoon, Felix Perera, Mahinda Yapa Abeywardane, Reginald Cooray, Vijith Vijayamuni Zoysa and Mahinda Amaraweera took oaths as Cabinet Ministers.
Meanwhile, Pavithra Vanniarachchi, Jeevan Kumaratunga, Mahinda Samarasinghe, C.B. Ratnayake and Dilan Perera took oaths as new State Ministers.
In addition, MPs Tissa Karaliyadda, Dayashritha Thisera, Ranjith Siyambalapitiya, Lakshman Senewiratne, Lakshman Yapa Abeywardena, Lalith Dissanayaka, Jagath Pushpakumara, Lasantha Alagiyawanna, Sudharshani Fernandopulle and Shantha Bandara have been appointed as Deputy Ministers.
This follows the meeting that was convened by President Maithripala Sirisena at Presidential Secretariat at 2.00p.m for SLFP MPs.
