Ten prominent customers of Bank of Ceylon have evaded settling payments amounting to Rs. 2.5 billion, a Committee on Public Enterprises (COPE) interim report issued for the period between 2014 October - 2015 March reveals.
According to the COPE report, it has been revealed that these customers include a printing firm, a famous apparel company and a Naval company.
It further reports that the bank has already taken legal action against several customers.
Meanwhile, the income growth of BoC which was 56.3% in 2012, had plummeted to 15.7% in 2013.
In addition, the BoC is also yet to receive Rs. 491 million provided to customers as overdraft payments.
