Former President Mahinda Rajapakse has decided not attend the CIAOB questioning session on Thursday the 24th but is expected to send his legal team to clarify the nature of the questioning being planned & also to find out the details of the complainant.
This information has been conveyed by his media spokesperson Mr Rohan Welivita.
According to media reports the reason for call up by the CIAOB was to question the former President on matters pertaining to the appointment of MP Tissa Attanayake as the Minister of Health after the MP switched sides at the threshold of the Presidential Election. The reasoning is that MP was baited to switch sides by offering a ministerial post.
There was a uproar going on in the Parliament about this matter today.
