Arjuna Mahendran in Sri Lanka to accept the post of Governor of CBSL

It is being reported that Arjuna Mahendran has arrived in Sri Lanka to accept the post of Governor of CBSL despite earlier reports that he is unable to accept the post immediately due to existing contractual commitments. Talk in financial circles was that Mr Dinesh Weerakkody would be appointed in the interim as Mr Arjuna Mahendran would not be immediately available.

Mr Mahendran with over 30 years of experience in the Asian & International banking sector is presently attached to Emirates NBD Bank PJSC as  Chief Investment Officer of the Wealth Management Division.

He has a Master of Arts in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics from the University of Oxford.
