Following a meeting between President Maithripala Sirisena
and Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe a decision has been taken to form a
national government today (22).
According to reliable sources, they have reached to a
consensus to offer 15 Cabinet ministerial portfolios and 15 deputy ministers to
the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP). The new Cabinet Ministers will swear in
before the President tomorrow itself and the first Cabinet meeting of the
national government will take place Monday (23).
Even though, it was discussed to appoint 10 state ministers
also from the SLFP, final decision on the matter will be taken only tomorrow
morning.
