The United People’s Freedom Alliance (UPFA) has decided to support President Maithripala Sirisena’s 100 day policy framework for the country.
UPFA Parliamentarian Dinesh Gunawardena said that the alliance will support the implementation of the constitutional changes proposed by the President when it is presented to Parliament.
He made the announcement together with other UPFA including Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) members at the SLFP headquarters.
“As the majority in Parliament we will support the implementation of the 100 day program,” Gunawardena said.
Meanwhile SLFP MP Nimal Siripala de Silva urged the ruling party supporters not to take revenge on the UPFA and its supporters following the defeat of President Mahinda Rajapaksa at the polls.(Colombo Gazette)
