Milco land sold to Softlogic at a cheap price!

The 13.5- acre land owned in Narahenpita by the National Milk Board (Milco) has been sold to Softlogic Holdings to build an international hospital, reports say.
Although one perch of land in the area is valued around Rs. 09 million - Rs. 10 million, this particular land has been sold at a price of Rs. 2.1 million per perch, reports say.
Reports say that this deal has been initiated by present Milco chairman Sunil Wickramasinghe, who is a person said to be sacked over corrupt dealings while being employed in a multinational dairy company.
Softlogic Holdings is led by Ashok Pathirage.
Rumours are abuzz about the sudden rise of Pathirage as a wealthy businessman and it is said that the gas cookers and other electric kitchen appliances distributed islandwide on the funds of the Economic Development ministry for the Presidential election are from this company.
