Dayan, prostitution of knowledge and survival of Mahinda - Chetiya Mahendra

Chetiya Mahendra
Dayan Jayathilake has come forward again to rescue his imperishable guardian President Mahinda Rajapakse in a way of routine duty. It appears like a permanent contract given by Mahinda Rajapakse to Dayan for a political survival.
Anyhow, the common candidate and his supporters must take this challenge into serious consideration as the motto of the Mahinda’s total campaign is based on lies. A person like Dayan Jayathilake acts in this manner for the perks from the corrupt ruler as he did during Premadas’s regime too. Let’s take one concrete example from Dayan’s utterance: He says, “He (Mahinda) protected this country and its people, liberating us from Prabhakaran’s reign of terror”. This is what people commonly believe and accept which is not 100% true. Only a handful few knows that Mahinda was trying his best to bring Prabhakaran to the negotiating table under the pressure from then Colombo Archbishop Oswald Gomez and consequently from Cardinal Malcolm Ranjith. Only Gotabaya in his family had the faith in the moral of forces and a final defeat to the LTTE and luckily Sri Lanka had a committed war veteran like General Fonseka to achieve this extremely difficult goal. As to what Dayan suggests, it is not Gota’s war but Mahinda’s war. In reality, it’s the war of our brave soldiers, which was later hijacked by Rajapakses to glorify their administration. Dayan has just prostituted his excellent writing ability to snatch the due respect from our gallant soldiers in order to give the credit to a corrupt ruler as it was his usual conduct in the past.
By claiming that either Gota or Mahinda won the war, they had a grave commitment to establish law and order in the country to protect the people, which was totally ignored or neglected as if everything went smoothly to pay the way to ruling class to exploit masses for their personal ends. The unanswered question seems to be this so-called protection emphasized by the ruler and his paid supporters. The number of innocent people killed by the murderers and the victims of road accidents clearly indicate that there is no protection as such in the country. This is mainly due to lawlessness and the ruler’s affiliation with the criminals who run the “Black Economy” in the country.
People paid their highest respect to the leader of the country for having “protected” the country and the people by defeating terrorist menace but now it has become an illusion to the people as this so-called protection was only for a handful few to exploit people further. The ruler and his government do not behave themselves as the true protectors of the country but they enjoy a greater degree of freedom to exploit resources and to sell country’s natural resources to foreign countries.
The largest income of the country is generated by the migrant Sri Lankan labour in Middle East and nearly 700 bodies of the house maids are being sent to Sri Lanka every year. All most every female employee is sexually harassed by the employer. What is the protection given by the government for these poor workers? Instead, the government is protecting the agents who export cheap labour to Arab countries as the government is much concerned about the welfare of the rich Arabs but not its own sons and daughters.
The common candidate must convince the rural masses that enough is enough with this continuous hoodwinking of the present corrupt ruler to remain in the power for another consecutive term which could bring adverse effects to the economy, civil administration and the sovereignty of the country. This should be conveyed to the people not as a speculation or anticipation but as a deductively valid argument based on unethical, illogical and dubious conduct of Mahinda regime.
