Veteran politician and minister Vasudeva Nanayakkara could be the next government crossover to support Common Opposition candidate Maithripala Sirisena at next month's election.
"I am confident, irrespective of who becomes the President, the executive presidency and the electoral system will have to change in this country. I have always held the view that the cause of every problem in this country has been the result of this executive presidency", said Minister Nanayakkara who also emphasized he will back Maithripala Sirisena to abolish the executive presidency in the event of his victory.
He said that President Mahinda Rajapaksa had also told him he would look into ways of changing the executive presidency.
