‘I will come after jumping out of the window’, Hirunika tells Chandrika!

Soon after hearing that western provincial councillor Hirunika Premachandra has decided to support common opposition candidate Maithripala Sirisena, the president yesterday (09) sent three DIGs in charge of Colombo division to her home.
The three senior policemen surrounded Hirunika and said they have been ordered by the higher up not to allow her to venture out of her home. Surprised by that utterance, she insisted that she wanted to leave the house to attend to an essential task. Then, the three DIGs asked her as to what that essential task would be. Hirunika replied that she wanted to be present at a friend’s wedding as a witness.
As this conversation was progressing, the former president has repeatedly called Hirunika on her mobile phone. When the police officers asked as who the caller is, she said they were those at the wedding as the auspicious time was nearing. The three fools of DIGs believed her. When the trio was not near her, Hirunika called Chandrika and explained her situation. “Madam, do not worry. I will jump out of the window if needed. These three believe me. They will leave in a short while. I will come soon thereafter.”
Hirunika has decided to support the common opposition candidate as it was Maithripala Sirisena and Rajitha Senaratne, who boldly came forward to support the Premachandra family after government thugs, led by Duminda Silva, brutally murdered her father.
