There had been an intense argument yesterday (12th) between former minister Felix Perera and the Secretary General of UPFA Susil Premajayanth regarding nominations for Gampaha District. The argument had been so intense that Mr. Premajayanth had to be admitted to Navaloka Hospital due to a sudden illness say reports.
Former minister Felix Perera had vehemently protested against a move carried out by Mahinda Rajapaksa faction to grab power in the UPFA in Gampaha District by including more Rajapaksa allies in nomination lists. Mr. Felix Perera has objected to giving nomination to the group including chief minister of the Western Province and former MP Nimal Lansa.
Also, Ms. Sudarshani Fernandopulle has rejected signing nomination papers for a third time protesting against including three persons who represent Mahinda Rajapaksa faction to the electorate she represented.
Preparing nominations of the UPFA has become chaotic due to the attempt to include members of Rajapaksa faction.
