From Ada Derana
UPFA General Secretary Susil Premajayantha says that it is
unreasonable to direct accusations at only him regarding the payments to be
made for SLTB buses used during the Presidential Election and balance sheets
also concern the President, as he is the incumbent Chairman of the party.
Sri Lanka’s Cabinet announced today that it has decided to
file legal action against the UPFA General Secretary due to the failure to pay
Rs 142.5 million owed to the Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB), for buses used
by his party during the presidential election.
However, Premajayantha emphasized that nowhere has it been
stated that the buses were obtained under his name and pleaded that accusations
not be made against him by highlighting the party.
He therefore requested that legal action be taken against
those who had obtained the buses and paid an advance.
Premajayantha also questioned as to how the Cabinet is doing
things which should be done by the Attorney General’s Department and the
Police.
