Political party leaders including Mano Ganesan, Vickramabahu Karunaratne, Sarath Manamendra and Senaka de Silva have also attended the discussion.
Although political issues such as abolishing executive presidency, enacting the 17th Amendment and electoral reforms would be important to a limited crowd from urban areas, the majority masses would want to know what they would benefit from a common candidate, Premadasa has said at the meeting.
Therefore, Premadasa urged to table an effective 'economic package' that would be felt by the masses.
This suggestion has received the complete approval of the former President and the UNP leader and Premadasa had been tasked with holding rural campaigning activities within the main political campaign.
