Kavan Rathnayake has been appointed the Chairman of 'The Associated Newspapers of Ceylon Ltd.' (Lake House) while Prof. Dhammika Ganganath Dissanayake has been appointed the Chairman of the Independent Television Network (ITN).
Kavan Rathnayake is the brother of UNP Working Committee member Sagala Rathnayake.
Prof.Ganganath functioned as the chairman of the Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation (SLRC) while the previous UNP government was in power.
Under a consensus reached between the stakeholders of the new government, the Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation (SLBC) and the SLRC are to function under the purview of the Jathika Hela Urumaya while Lake House and the ITN are to function under the purview of the UNP, reports say.
